2022年，中国人民解放军迎来了建军95周年。95年来，中国军队在坚决维护国家主权、安全、发展利益的同时，积极投身维和、护航、救灾等海外任务，挑起了维护世界和平的重担，正如习近平总书记曾强调的“为维护世界和平贡献更多中国力量，向世界展示中国军队良好形象”。

2022 witnesses the 95^th anniversary of the foundation of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA). For 95 years, while resolutely safeguarding national sovereignty, security, and development interests, PLA has also been actively participating in overseas peacekeeping, escorting, and rescuing missions. PLA has taken up the task of maintaining world peace, as was once stressed by Xi Jinping, the General Secretary, “PLA contributes more Chinese power to preserve world peace and shows a good image of the Chinese military to the world.”

维护世界和平安宁，中国不仅是倡导者，更是行动派。中国没有主动挑起过任何一场战争和冲突，而是通过自身发展促进各地区稳定，以实际行动践行着维护世界和平的铮铮誓言，在救灾纾困的第一线，在捍卫和平的最前沿，在许多国际社会共同关心的事件中，都活跃着中国军队的身影。

China is not only an advocate but also an activist in maintaining world peace. Never has China initiated any single war and conflict; instead, China has promoted stability in various regions by means of its own development and has practiced its oath to preserve world peace through real actions. PLA is always present on the front line of disaster relief, peace defense, and many events of common concern to the international community.

30多年来，中国军队先后参加25项联合国维和行动，派出官兵近5万人次，有16名官兵献出宝贵生命；在海盗猖獗的亚丁湾、索马里海域，中国海军护航编队累计完成1500余批7000多艘次中外船舶护航任务，有力维护着海上国际通道安全；新冠肺炎疫情期间，中国军队积极参与抗疫国际合作，向30余国军队提供新冠疫苗和物资援助……中国军队不仅是威武之师，也是和平之师、文明之师。

Over the past 30 years, PLA has taken part in 25 UN peacekeeping operations, dispatching nearly 50,000 officers and soldiers, 16 of whom had sacrificed their lives. In the Gulf of Aden where piracy is rampant, the Chinese naval convoy has escorted more than 7,000 ships of around 1,500 batches, powerfully maintaining the safety of international maritime channels. During the COVID-19 pandemic, PLA also participated in the global fight against the disease by providing COVID-19 vaccines and relief supplies to armies of more than 30 countries. In short, PLA is not only a division of power, but also one of peace and civility.

未来，不管国际风云如何变幻，中国始终是世界和平的建设者、全球发展的贡献者、国际秩序的维护者。中国军队也将越来越多地走出国门、走向世界，为维护世界和平贡献更多力量，为全人类的美好未来提供更加坚实有力的支撑。

In the future, no matter how the international situation changes, China will always be a builder of world peace, a contributor to global development and a defender of international order. PLA will extend its influence in the world, make more effort in preserving world peace, and provide more solid and powerful support for a better future of all mankind.
